7月1日是香港回归27周年，香港政府举行升旗仪式及庆祝酒会，行政长官李家超宣布，中央再送赠一对大熊猫予香港，数月后抵埗。
国旗和区旗早上八时在金紫荆广场升起，行政长官李家超以及太太林丽婵、数名前任行政长官，包括全国政协副主席梁振英、曾荫权和林郑月娥亦有到场观礼。
挂上国旗及区旗的直升机在上空飞过，消防船亦在维港海面射水敬礼。李家超之后出席会展的回归酒会，他致辞时称，政府过去两年推动的政策已见成效，未来会排难民生忧难，不断创新求变。
行政长官李家超：“我强调的工作态度是，没有最好只有更好，我的团队理念就好像一只船，方向要正确信念要一致，速度要不断加快，要遇浪破浪，奋勇向目标前进。”
